Petite Friture Francis Extra Large ‘Grand’ Wall Mirror
Designed by Constance Guisset
The extra-large Francis mirror is the most spectacular of the 2012 series designed by Constance Guisset for Petite Friture.
The watercolour hues are brought to life, giving coloured dream-like glow to any interior. The large-scale mirror with its blue and violet or blue-yellow watercolours and impressive span of 110cm, takes the collection to newer horizons.
Petite-Friture’s poetic wall mirrors add a touch of colour to liven up home spaces. Our Francis mirrors are made in France, and each of them features unique watercolour artwork by designer Constance Guisset. The slightly convex back surface of the mirrors is inspired by Venetian mirrors. Petite Friture’s wall mirrors come in several sizes – small, large, and extra-large –providing unlimited creative opportunities.
Although our Francis wall mirrors are decorative, they are also functional pieces. Our extra-large Francis mirror has a dreamy quality that makes an entrance hall look even bigger. Our stylish mirrors also effortlessly brighten up a dark interior. Thanks to the watercolour artwork, the mirrors double up as paintings that can liven up a living room, bedroom or bathroom.
In 2019, Petite Friture’s Francis mirrors were also produced as coffee tables, offering a different take on reflective expressions. The coffee tables also come in 3 sizes: small, large, and extra-large.
And just like all of Petite Friture’s decorative objects, the Francis wall mirrors were designed to be both elegant and functional, and to add a touch of liveliness to our customers’ living areas.
The wall mirror Francis evolved from an experience with pigmentation. The shifting colours on the periphery suggest the oxidation of antique mirrors or hues on a makeup palette. This observational design, with vivid and deep colours, is reflected inside the sur face of each mirror by digital printing. The back of the mirror, slightly convex, is suspended through the centre, which allows the mirror to fall forward such as with venetian mirrors.
The FRANCIS mirror came from an experimentation: pigments vanishing on water. The result is a bright oxidation. Make up palette or ageing mirror?
